Levy County Mosquito Control
Independent Vector Information & Public Health Network
Citizen Reporting Portal
Public health vector control requires community vigilance. The LCMN relies on Levy County residents to act as early warning sentinels for disease outbreaks and severe breeding habitats. Use this portal to report abandoned tires, massive standing water violations, or dead wildlife that may indicate the presence of arborviruses.
Sentinel Surveillance: Dead Bird Reporting
Crows, blue jays, and raptors are highly susceptible to West Nile Virus (WNV) and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). A sudden die-off of these birds in your neighborhood is often the first indicator that infected mosquitoes are active in the area.
Do not touch the carcass with bare hands. Please file a report below so our epidemiological team can coordinate with the Florida Department of Health for potential testing.
